Today's prompt dealt with writing a nature poem...I'll just let you guess what's going on in my kitchen currently...

April Invasion

Shiny brown ants seep

as rainwater through kitchen

walls: warmed soil’s spring flood.

Mace: I always blank on these...hi. I'm Meredith Smith-Lane (call me Mace) and this is my blog. It has no ulterior agenda other than to showcase my rants, rambles, and oddities, and as a place to dump my poetry and fiction. The short list: I live in Iowa (USA). I write poetry and other stuff. I work in theatrical costuming and teach writing part time. I also do mosaic glasswork. I am a mom to two wild little girls. I want to be the crazy cat lady when I grow up, and have two kitties currently. I like green growing things, and I like taking small pieces of stuff (glass, language) and maybe making it into something more (or at least different) than what it was. That's the goal, anyway. Laugh. Frolic. Eat pasta. Drink fluffy coffee and cheap red wine.
