4.15.13

Today's poem is a pantum, as per the NaPoWriMo prompt.  The color was chocolate...and handily enough, my task was to make a Candyland cake for a charity cake auction this week, so that worked out nicely.  My 5-year-old daughter decorated her own little six-inch cake, and never have I seen so much candy in a circle with a 6-inch diameter!  She had a ball.

See?

It's a freakin' confection of perfection.  I mean, can you actually go wrong with this amount of candy?

Mmmmmmm, chocolate.

Go ahead and go grab a sugar fix.  I'll wait.

Oh yeah, here's mine:

I think Miss L's is more fun though.

Oh yes, and here's the blasted poem:

Sparkling gumdrops, lollipops, dark swirl icing—
who knew that so much could fit on a cake?
In art and love and many other things,
there’s no such thing as a mistake.
