Lying
with Dragons
Drawn
to darkness, mystery: the princess type.
Always
in trouble, needing to be saved.
Dragons
come in leather, scales and stripes
and
curl gentled claws around her waist.
Always
the assumption that she’s waiting—
but
what can be learned from a tiresome prince?
A
dragon’s fierce and wise and inviting.
A
mistake? Usually, but she always lives.
Strong,
hardened, she pulls on silver armor.
Dragons
scar, but princes just want credit.
Leave
the beast, lose the prince—which is harder?
Both
are right, and she decides the ending.
Kick
the tiara to the curb, princess.
You’re
free to lie with dragons if you wish.
